Notes on My Ineffectual Boycotts - 6
Boycott Song
As always, we end the series with lyrics. Just stir in a bit of tune and you’ve got yourself a song.
In this case, I’m using Boycott as a metaphor for the revenge a wronged lover seeks. For reasons that continue to baffle male scientists from across the globe, this sort of song is typically sung in a female voice.
I’M GONNA BOYCOTT YOU! I am deaf to your excuses You aren’t squeezin’ where the juice is We are done and you are roasted Gonna wish you’d just been ghosted You are nothin’ but a liar I have served my time as buyer That disaster you are smellin’ I’m not buyin’ what you’re sellin’. It was overdue But now we’re more than through I’m gonna boycott you! What makes this boycott scary Is it’s also secondary I’m a member of a faction That can take concerted action Anyone who’s ever met ya Will have reason to forget ya That’s disaster you are smellin’ We’re not buyin’ what you’re sellin’. This is something new We’re lined up in a queue We’re gonna boycott you! We’ll show you where to park it Gonna take you off the market You can wave but won’t hear Hiya That’s your life as pure pariah Do you wonder who’s the loser? Well, the answer’s clearly you, sir That disaster you are smellin’ No one’s buyin’ what you’re sellin’. It was overdue But now we’re more than through I’m gonna boycott you!
